How To Make Traditional Oxtail Stew

There are many dishes which make up Africa's exciting and remarkable cuisine. Oxtail Stew cooked in different styles and methods. The most popular cooked with beans in the Caribbean. In Nigeria it is mostly cooked with stewed tomatoes by origins in the west or with vegetables in the East all to suit your preference.

How cook a Oxtail Dish:

Oxtail joints ( 1-2 Kg )

Chopped Tomatoes (2-3)

Onions (2-3) Chopped

Peppers ( spicy cloves) 3-4 depending on your taste buds

Cooking Cubes ( Maggi, vege stocks etc )

Oil ( Vegetable )

How to Cook -

Put washed oxtail into cooking pot and put on medium heat to boil with added cooking cubes and chopped onions until tender.

Put chopped tomatoes ( Vegetables ) and add a quarter of oil into clean pot and heat on low for 5 - 10 Min's

Add cooked Oxtail to pot and add 2 cooking stocks ( vegetables ) if needed and leave to cook on medium heat for 10 - 15 Min's

( Include Vegetables if required for your preference )

Put on low heat for another 5 Min's and leave to simmer.
